Maurice Holland established and opened the doors of Holland Jewelers in downtown Moline.  Even though the country was in the grip of the Great Depression, Maurice deftly crafted his vision and set the foundation of service that is the vital underlying force of the business today.

In 1965 his son, Daniel (Dan) took over the reins and instilled it with family pride.  He solidified, strengthened and infused Holland Jewelers’ characteristic element of unqualified customer satisfaction.  In 1972 he doubled the size of the store, redesigned its interior and streamlined its inventory.  Eight years later in 1982 he built the beautiful new store in the now familiar location, “Next to but not in SouthPark”.

Family pride remains a solid foundation at Holland Jewelers.  Dan’s son, Jeffrey (Jeff), employed part time during his high school and college days, joined the staff full time after his graduation.  He ushered in the computer age by transforming the management and inventory systems, putting the business in tune with the rapidly accelerating marriage of business with technology.
